Ben’s Judicial Philosophy

Ben’s philosophy as a judge has always been to treat people fairly and keep the community safe.

  • When Ben started as the Jackson County Chief Magistrate Judge in 2018, he revoked the “felony bond schedule”. This stopped countless criminals from filtering through the Jackson County Jail and returning to the streets without anyone considering the safety of the community. Careful consideration is always given to determine if someone is a threat to public safety.

If you are already on probation, parole, or out on bond for another crime, and you are charged with a new felony offense, there is no bond on your new charge. The jail is not going to be a revolving door. Someone who is out on bond now, or on probation for a crime they committed, who then is alleged to have committed another felony, is a risk to continue re-offending and likely a risk to the community.

  • Judge Green firmly believes in personal accountability. When a swimming pool contractor refused to turn over a list of assets in his possession Judge Green had him jailed for contempt. Watch the video here.
